Fall Report

DURHAM, N.C. — Over the last decade, no program has boosted its standing in the college baseball world more than Duke. As we noted in last year’s Duke Fall Report, when D1Baseball released its inaugural Top 100 Programs list in the fall of 2015, the Blue Devils weren’t anywhere near breaking into the list — they were a non-factor nationally, with an NCAA tournament drought dating back to 1961.

But Chris Pollard’s Blue Devils ended that drought in 2016, and that was just the beginning. Remarkably, Pollard has led Duke to three super regionals in the last five completed seasons, and[…]

Fall Workouts

TCU has settled into the Kirk Saarloos era quite nicely.

The Horned Frogs promoted the former heralded pitching coach to the head coaching position two seasons ago, and the results thus far have been sparkling. The Frogs have not skipped a beat. In Saarloos’s first season as head coach two years ago, the Frogs won the Big 12 regular season title and reached the NCAA Regional round.

They took a big step forward last season.

Come take a behind-the-scenes look at Old Dominion University’s Bud Metheny Baseball Stadium! In this facility tour, Stephen Schoch is joined by ODU’s own Jake Ticer. Jake is arguably one of the most fun guys to watch hit home runs, and he is a heck of a tour guide too.

ODU currently has an awesome setup from a baseball standpoint, where they have just about everything you would need all on one street. Their stadium and hitting facility are great venues in college baseball, and the amenities at ODU are only getting nicer.

Make sure to stay tuned till the end of the episode to see what the school plans to do with renovations in the coming years! The facilities they have down here in Norfolk are already great and are only getting better. It is no wonder why ODU is able to consistently churn out postseason ball clubs every June.
