Updates, Score, Results, and More From Week 3 Matchup

The Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Monday Night Football game is somewhat a tale of David vs. Goliath. The Eagles, undefeated and coming off of a Super Bowl appearance, will battle the Buccaneers, who were the odds-on favorite to be the worst team in the league with Baker Mayfield under center.
Now, both teams are looking to extend their win streaks to three, and both can take the lead in their respective divisions. Will the Mayfield magic continue? Will Jalen Hurts and this Eagles offense be too much for the Bucs to handle?
Find out here as we update you on all the big plays, highlights, and results from the game.
Eagles vs. Buccaneers Box Score and Results
We will update this section as the Eagles vs. Buccaneers game is played.
Highlights and Analysis
Third Quarter: Eagles 10, Buccaneers 3
9:05 p.m. ET: Swift is slowly taking over this game. And, he did so with an unreal highlight play which you can see below. The Eagles are once again in the red zone looking to extend their lead to two scores. Also, shootout to the PFN social media team. Excellent tweet (X?).

Second Quarter: Eagles 10, Buccaneers 3
8:35 p.m. ET: Nevermind. Rookie Jalen Carter forced a FUMBLE and the Eagles are back on the field with 24 seconds left.
Jalen Carter is a problem 😤

8:30 p.m. ET: The Eagles were driving and about to score. They also get the ball in the second half. So this was a massive drive if the Buccaneers wanted to remain in this game. Well, the defense did their job with a massive INTERCEPTION on Hurts. Now, with less than 45 seconds to go, Tampa Bay could go into the half tied at 10.
8:17 p.m. ET: The Bucs played with fire and got burned. This Eagles offense is simply too good. Hurts took a deep shot to Olamide Zaccheaus for a 34-yard TOUCHDOWN. The Eagles are now up 10-3. Unfortunately for the Buccaneers, when it rains, it pours. On the very next drive, Mayfield makes a bad throw in the center of the field and the Eagles get the INTERCEPTION. Eagles are now at the 37-yard line and are driving again.
Jalen Hurts does it again!
He has now thrown 13 TD passes when attempting a pass of 20+ yards since the 2022 season — most among #NFL QBs (stats by @IE_NFL).

8:05 p.m. ET: Think the Bucs were listening to me? As soon as I criticized the offense, they finally got something going. Although they had an excellent shot at a TD with Mike Evans, the Eagles’ defense managed to stop Mayfield and limit the Bucs to a FIELD GOAL. We have a tied game! And under 44.5 betters are enjoying the snail’s pace this one is currently moving at. 8:33 remaining in the second.
7:55 p.m. ET: At the start of the second quarter, the Buccaneers brought a ton of pressure on Hurts and forced a three-and-out. Tampa Bay now needs to find a way to get this offense going. Mayfield has completed just four passes for 44 yards.
First Quarter: Eagles 3, Buccaneers 0
7:44 p.m. ET: Eagles get the first points of the night thanks to a chip shot FIELD GOAL from Jake Elliott. The Bucs are lucky to only be down three at this point. The Eagles have not had a tough time moving the ball.
7:37 p.m. ET: Swift makes another impressive run, causing Troy Aikman to proclaim that he could play tailback with this Eagles offensive line in front of him. We have our doubts Mr. Aikman. We have our doubts.
7:33 p.m. ET: And just like that, the Buccaneers go three-and-out, punt the ball, and the Eagles are already past midfield thanks to an impressive 52-yard punt return. Tampa Bay will not beat this talented Eagles team making mistakes like that.
7:25 p.m. ET: As good as that drive was for the Eagles, it came to a surprising end as the team went for it on 4th and less than five. Kenneth Gainwell failed to convert and it is once again Buccaneers ball. Guess the Eagles can’t always rely on pushing their QB forward for a few yards.
7:20 p.m. ET: The Buccaneers start the game with the ball but fail to move it downfield. They got one first down and then needed to punt. The Eagles, meanwhile, have not had a hard time moving the ball. The first play from Jalen Hurts was a 26-yard pass to A.J. Brown. Then, followed that up by another deep ball for 16 yards. D’Andre Swift then rushed for 7.
After a quiet Week 2, A.J. brown gets catches on the first two plays of the game for the #Eagles!

Eagles vs. Buccaneers Picks and Predictions
All odds are from DraftKings Sportsbook unless stated otherwise.
- Spread
Eagles -5 - Moneyline
Eagles -225, Buccaneers +185 - Total
45
Bearman: Not all 2-0s are created equal, as we saw with Washington on Sunday. Give credit to the Bucs for starting 2-0, but now the NFC champs are coming to town.
I expect Hurts and company to move the ball at ease to give the Bucs their first loss of the season.
The Eagles’ weakness this season has been their pass defense, but I don’t think Mayfield and the Bucs will be able to exploit it.
I’d also play Hurts to score a touchdown like we did last week.
Picks: Eagles -5 (-110 at DraftKings), Jalen Hurts anytime touchdown (-105 at DraftKings)
Katz: There’s a lot more optimism surrounding Rachaad White after his admittedly much-improved Week 2 performance. But let’s not forget he faced the Bears — you could probably run for 60 yards against them.
In Week 1, White carried the ball 17 times for 40 yards against a Vikings run defense that just allowed D’Andre Swift to run for 175 yards. Now, he gets an Eagles run defense that completely stuffed Alexander Mattison and Rhamondre Stevenson in each of the first two weeks.
MORE: NFL Standings
Philadelphia has yet to allow a single run of 10+ yards. Stevenson and Mattison combined to total just 53 yards over the first two weeks.
White also has just one carry for 10+ yards on the season, and it came last week against the Bears (13 yards). Essentially, this is a two-unit play on White split into two bets that I love.
Picks: Rachaad White under 47.5 rushing yards (-115 at DraftKings) and Rachaad White longest rush under 11.5 yards (+100 at DraftKings)

Minnesota QB’s Magic Disappears into Bears Secondary

If Josh Dobbs became a closet magician with the magic he’d been pulling with the Minnesota Vikings, the Chicago Bears made sure his next act wouldn’t disappear into thin air.
Chicago’s defense made sure his magic instead fell into their hands.
Dobbs entered U.S. Bank Stadium with five total interceptions. The Bears, however, nearly matched his interception totals — snatching four total in the 12-10 Monday Night Football win. And in the process, the Bears got the NFL world believing the magic has run out for Dobbs.
“We’re Seeing That Josh Dobbs Regression in Real Time,” NFL World Has Harsh Reactions for QB
Again, Dobbs had created quite the storybook novel as a journeyman quarterback on his third NFL team this season, but sparked a late playoff push for his latest team.
The Bears, though, went with a textbook approach to throw off Dobbs starting with Jaylon Johnson.

But that wasn’t all. The Bears turned to another fundamental aspect of defensive play — the tip drill. Jaquan Brisker caught the next one for Chicago.
TIP DRILL 🚨

And there was another tip and grab — this one completed by T.J. Edwards.

Finally, the fourth nearly went to interior defensive lineman Justin Jones before falling into the hands of cornerback Kyler Gordon.

Dobbs delivered his most mistake-prone outing of his truncated time with the Vikings. But the criticism was out in full force after the Minnesota loss.
“We’re seeing that Josh Dobbs regression in real time. Always happens with career backups once they get a few more starts under their belt,” posted Colts beat reporter for The Athletic James Boyd on X (formerly known as Twitter).
ESPN NFL analyst Ryan Clark was equally harsh of Dobbs’ performance.
“Yea, Joshua Dobbs’ carriage done changed back into a pumpkin,” Clark posted.
Meanwhile, Yahoo sports analyst Matt Harmon believes Dobbs has taken new steps backwards.
“The more Josh Dobbs has gotten to know his teammates the worse he’s played,” Harmon shared.

Lastly, a Vikings fan believes the Dobbs magic is gone and it’s time for Minnesota to pivot elsewhere.
“Over Josh Dobbs. The magic is gone. Reason he was traded for a sixth. Good guy but we need to play Hall,” the fan said, referring to 2023 rookie Jaren Hall.
Dobbs and Kevin O’Connell React to Dismal Night
Dobbs ended his night going an unmagical 22-of-32 for 185 yards, one touchdown and the four picks.
His head coach Kevin O’Connell faced the daunting task of getting asked about Dobbs’ dismal night. Turns out per “KOC,” Dobbs still hasn’t reached a comfort level with the Vikings offense.
“As much as he’s done some really good things for us, he’s still getting comfortable in our pass game,” O’Connell told reporters after the loss.
However, O’Connell sounded like a coach who wouldn’t declare Dobbs the permanent starter from this day forward.
“We’re going to take a look and evaluate,” O’Connell said.
Once Dobbs took to the podium, he was equally honest about how the night went — stating how the Vikings didn’t execute and how it starts with him.
“It’s frustrating because, as I said last week, turnovers can really control the game,” Dobbs said. “So it starts with me in taking care of the football and my decision making. I acknowledge it and I’m frustrated with myself.”
But, he vows that he’ll be better “from every single one of them” with his turnovers and aim to use it to build new momentum.
Yet, after a four-takeaway evening, many are starting to believe the Dobbs magic has run out. And now, even his head coach blurted out a new evaluation process will take place behind center.

NFL World Reacts to Awful Bears vs. Vikings Monday Night Football Contest

ESPN NFL play-by-play analyst Joe Buck admitted the final play of the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings battle should’ve had the Benny Hill music playing.
That statement alone signified how the Monday Night Football contest went. It became a blunder-fest at U.S. Bank Stadium, with the Bears escaping 12-10. And the NFL world was quick to rip the contest on social media.
Fans Relentlessly Rip Bears vs. Vikings MNF Contest
For entertainment purposes, one fan eventually added the famed Benny Hill song to describe the final sequence of the game.

One account on X (formerly known as Twitter) claimed that the halftime show of the Denver Broncos and Cleveland Browns game was more exciting than the MNF game. That show featured a child trying to ride the back of a sheep.
Bay Area radio personality for 95.7 FM The Game Bonta Hill even asked if the NFL could’ve flexed out of the Bears/Vikings game. One fan, however, admitted season two of Netflix’s Squid Game was more watchable.
“Glad I skipped tonight’s MNF to watch Netflix Squid Game reality show with the wife. There’s was more competition in that than seeing the highlights of what others watched,” the fan shared.

Even national analysts couldn’t help but troll the prime-time game. NFL Network personality Andrew Siciliano was one who gave a unique, yet telling, one-word answer of this game.
Help.

Final Stats Further Point to How Sloppy MNF Game Became
Fans who love a good offensive shootout likely faced the urge to change the channel or throw their remote at their television screen.
Neither team surpassed 320 total yards of offense on the night. The teams ended up combining for six turnovers. Finally, no one even hit 200 yards in either rushing or passing yards.

Not only was there the lack of offense, but the opening drive ended in a missed field goal. And that possession ate up 47 yards on 14 plays for the visiting Bears.
Defense was the theme of the night on both sides. However, the Bears couldn’t turn their first two interceptions into points and settled for punts. The Vikings ended up becoming the ones with the lone touchdown of the night — which came with under six minutes to play. And that came on Josh Dobbs hitting T.J. Hockenson across the middle for 17 yards that gave Minnesota the lead 10-9.

But the Bears had one last long drive left in them. They put together a 10-play, 66-yard drive that ended with Cairo Santos delivering the final boot.

Still, the NFL world would’ve likely been glad if the league flexed out of this contest and instead gave the fans the Philadelphia Eagles versus Buffalo Bills shootout, which became the best game of the weekend. Fans were instead treated to, arguably, the worst MNF game of the season.

Should You Add Royce Freeman on the Week 13 Waiver Wire?

We are all in that situation right now in fantasy football, wondering ‘Is there a guy who can go on a magical run and lead us to the championship?’ Fantasy managers across the world are scouring the waiver wire to find that diamond in the rough.
Los Angeles Rams RB Royce Freeman posted a career day on Sunday, as he rushed the ball for 77 yards and a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals. The Rams as a team were terrific at running the ball on Sunday. RB Kyren Williams also was able to rush for 143 yards, while also catching six passes for 61 yards and two touchdowns.
Could Freeman complement Williams enough for fantasy managers to sign him off the waiver wire?
Should Royce Freeman Be a Fantasy Waiver Wire Add in Week 13?
Any time you see the phrase “career game,” you get excited and want that guy on your team. The Rams are playing for their playoff lives now, so you can expect them to do whatever is needed and to feed their go-to players.
Sunday was a huge indication of what Williams brings to the team. When he is healthy, the Rams have an offense that resembles a top-five unit.
With that in mind, when you see Freeman’s name on the waiver wire, skip right past it.
The biggest sign to stay away from Freeman is the fact Williams had such a monster game. This was his first game back. We expected the Rams to ease him back in and make sure he is truly healthy. He showed for an absolute fact that he was ready to go, and you have to expect the Rams to keep feeding him the ball.
If anything, he will get the ball even more now. The Rams’ offense as a whole is finally healthy, and that hasn’t happened much this year. Los Angeles is in action against the Cleveland Browns this week, and the Rams could be in store for a big day — despite the Browns’ great defense.
MORE: PFN’s FREE NFL Playoff Predictor
Not having CB Denzel Ward is really hurting the pass defense, and EDGE Myles Garrett’s status is questionable moving forward. That completely changes how good this defense is. Wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua should both have great one-on-one matchups in this game.
Freeman had a good week, but right now, he doesn’t figure to be involved in the Rams’ offense. This unit right now is clicking like it was at the beginning of the season, and you can bet Sean McVay is going to let QB Matthew Stafford continue to throw the ball a lot.
When you are looking at the waiver wire at this point of the year, you want a guy with a high ceiling who is extremely versatile. While Freeman will get some carries, he is highly unlikely to catch the ball. In 73 career games, he has only 85 catches. In 2019, Freeman had 43 catches in 16 games, meaning in his other 57 career games, he has 42 catches.
Meanwhile, Williams can make plays in both the pass and run. He may be getting the ball 25-28 times to end the year.
