DALLAS — I pulled up to the big white steepled church that fronts the Dallas Baptist University campus. You can’t miss it. It sits stately on the hillside and dominates any view you might get of the campus. That’s where the DBU Patriots were going to gather together and watch the Selection Show today.

I walked down to the lower part of the chapel to where a large room was set up with chairs and a big pull-down screen that was showing ESPN with the sound off. The first person I caught eyes with was DBU head coach Dan Heefner.[…]

At the end of July we posted a Dozen Day One Dudes to Know for the 2024 MLB Draft. Today we rank those standouts, as well as 88 more from this year’s college draft class.

Overall, the class is light on starting pitching depth, but heavy on power relievers. As with every year, many under the radar arms will emerge to deepen the pool, yet it’s realistic to forecast that others will fall due to injury. It’s just the risky nature of pitching.
