DURHAM, N.C. — Day Three at the ACC tournament featured three contests whose winners would advance to Saturday’s semifinal round, providing higher stakes than Wednesday’s action, where only one game was relevant for ACC tournament advancement purposes. Top-seeded Wake Forest punched its ticket first with a 10-2 victory against Pittsburgh, and then North Carolina beat Virginia by the same score in the middle game. The nightcap provided Thursday’s only real drama, as Miami edged NC State 4-2.
