Brooklyn’s Kyrie Irving Listed As Available For The Nets Vs Phoenix Tonight

Published

on

The Brooklyn Nets remain without their superstar Kevin Durant and they have lost three straight games since his absence. Jacque Vaughn has the Nets at 27-16 which is fourth in the East at the moment. Their three straight losses without Durant speak to how much he means to the teams success. Missing their game on Tuesday with right calf soreness was Kyrie Irving, but he’s listed as available to play tonight vs the Phoenix Suns.

Without Irving on Tuesday, the Nets looked lost on offense and they were unsure of where the consistent points were going to come from all game. The only good thing to happen from that game was that Ben Simmons had a triple-double. Brooklyn will look t bounce back tonight vs a Suns team who are getting back some reinforcements.

New York Sports Betting sites have the Nets at (+800) to win the Finals this season.

Kyrie Irving returns to the lineup tonight after a one-game absence

The Nets 106-98 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday proved how much Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant mean to the roster. As a team Brooklyn shot 42 percent from the field and an abysmal 13 percent from deep. They went 3-23 from down town and Seth Curry, Edmond Sumner, and Royce O’Neal each hit one three. In the three collective games so far without Durant, the Nets have shot (43.3) percent from the field.

That is much lower than there (50.6) team field-goal percentage for the 2022-23 season which ranks second in the NBA only behind the Nuggets. Irving has missed two other games this season with a right calf injury, but his full availability tonight suggests that he’s ready to go.

For the 2022-23 season, Irving has played in 32 games and is averaging (25.6) points, (4.8) rebounds, and (4.8) assists per game. Brooklyn will be facing the Phoenix Suns tonight at 10:00pm with the game being nationally televised on TNT. Chris Paul (hip), Josh Okogie (nose), and Landry Shamet are all out tonight vs the Nets.

Los Angeles Clippers forward Marcus Morris (bruised ribs) has been downgraded to questionable for Thursday night’s home game versus the San Antonio Spurs. Luke Kennard (right calf soreness) is also listed as questionable.

John Wall (abdominal) remains out indefinitely. Morris has missed only four games this season. During the first quarter of Tuesday night’s 133-115 win over the Los Angeles Lakers, the 12-year veteran exited the game after 10 minutes played due to a rib contusion.

Per a few NBA betting sites, the Clippers possess seventh-best odds to win the championship. Check out which sportsbooks are giving the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors better odds.

Clippers coach Tyronn Lue did not provide a postgame update on the wing’s injury. Through 46 starts this season, Morris is averaging 12.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per contest. Plus, he’s shooting 43.7% from the field and 37.9% outside the arc.

On Oct. 23, in Los Angeles’ 112-95 loss against the Phoenix Suns, the 33-year-old logged a season-high 22 points in 32 minutes of action. He finished 10-of-14 (71.4%) shooting from the floor and knocked down two 3-pointers.

Clippers’ Marcus Morris (ribs), Luke Kennard (right calf soreness) are questionable versus Spurs on Thursday

Moreover, Luke Kennard has missed the last nine games due a right calf soreness. The Duke product has missed a total of 21 games so far this season. He’s averaging 8.7 points, 2.5 boards, and 1.2 assists per game. Also, the Clippers guard is shooting career bests of 48.9% from the field and 46.2% beyond the arc.

For San Antonio’s injury report, the only players listed as Romeo Langford (leg) and Devin Vassell (knee). While Vassell remains out indefinitely, Langford is questionable for Thursday night’s intraconference matchup.

The Spurs have won just two of its last 10 contests. They’re winless in their past nine road games. San Antonio is currently on a three-game skid as well. Not to mention, the Spurs are 0-9 in their previous nine meetings versus Western Conference opponents.

As for the Clippers, they’re 5-5 in their past 10 games. Los Angeles is now on a three-game win streak. And the playoff contender has won the last five matchups against Southwest Division teams.

Though, the Clippers are 5-11 ATS in their previous 16 contests played on a Thursday. Sportsbooks show Los Angeles as heavy 12.5-point favorites at home.

The Orlando Magic are the most efficient NBA team in the fourth quarter since December – Basketball Insiders

Published

By

If your team is playing against Orlando lately and you feel confident as they are winning the game in the third quarter – watch out! The Magic are casting their best spells in the final streches of the match, as they are the season’s best performing in the final quarter since December started.

They might be one of the league’s weakest teams of the campaign, but incredibly no one plays better than the Florida side during the fourth quarter. Since December 1st, the Magic are the only team in the league that has a top five offensive rating and top five defensive rating in the final frame!

During these past 26 games, their offensive rank 3rd best in the league with a 121.1 rating, whereas their defensive is tied at 4th place with a 107.9 rating. Compared to last season, the Magic had a fourth-quarter rating of 110.6 (16th best) and a 111.6 defensive rating (19th in the league).

This just goes to show the impact of coach Jamahl Mosley’s progress so far, as the team decided to give him another chance and trust the process after Orlando finished last in the Eastern Conference after the 2021/22 regular season with a 22-60 record. Today, they are still at the lower end of their conference (13th place) but at least they are already three victories away from reaching the same amount they managed last year.

Magic’s headcoach says it’s all about the transition and energy on the court. “I really think what it is, we are allowing the defense to spark that offense,” Mosley said. “Coming down the stretch, getting stops, being able to get out on the break and get easy baskets. We talk to our guys about that a ton. Getting stops down the stretch, getting three stops in a row in order to get out on the break.”

Another impressive stat is how poorly Orlando has performed over turnovers this campaign, as they rank 23rd in that regard. Nevertheless, this has not been a problem in the last quarter. Ever since December started, they are the team who average less turnovers in the fourth, with only 2.6.

The Magic have become experts at keeping their opponents on the petimeter when defending, as stats prove their rival teams average the second fewest field goal attempts within five feet of the basket. And subsequently as they attack, they average the second most from 25 to 29 feet away with a shot efficiency of 30.4% on those long-range attempts.

You can watch below a perfect example of this winning formula on Orlando’s last game out, as they beat the Indiana Pacers (126-120) with an inspired Paolo Banchero:

Lately the player who most embodies this amazing fourth-quarter-surge in the Magic camp is german player Franz Wagner, as the 21-year-old is dropping 46.2% on floor shots and 45.5% when trying from behind the arc.

“I think that’s why you play basketball. Those important plays, important moments – but I think to win a game is not just scoring the ball,” Wagner said. “I think you have to do a lot – a lot of small little things as a group.”

Most of our favorite sport betting sites do not consider Orlando to even have possibilities of making it to the conference’s playoffs at this point. Do you believe they still have a chance standing 13th in the East?

Lakers’ Lonnie Walker IV Taking The Next Step In Returning Back To The Court

Published

on

By

One area the Lakers have been lacking this season is the guard position. They have plenty of forwards as they recently just traded away Kendrick Nunn for Rui Hachimura. Good news for the Lakers is that Anthony Davis made his return and the Lakers got a win. Additionally, the Lakers were told that Lonnie Walker IV is working his way back to getting on the court.

In a teams that lacks scoring from deep consistently, getting Walker IV back will be a nice addition. In his 32 games played with the Lakers this season Walker IV is averaging 38 percent from deep and is taking (5.4) three pointers per game.

He’s started in all 32 games he’s played in this season and it’s clear the Lakers value his shooting with the way their roster is built. California Sports Betting sites have the Lakers at (+2000) to win the Finals this season.

Lonnie Walker IV could be returning to the Lakers very soon

Walker IV has missed the last 14 games in a row and has not played since 12/28 vs the Miami Heat. The Lakers announced today that he’ll be getting in some extra reps with the South Bay Lakers. He’ll join the G League affiliate for a practice today and then will rejoin the Lakers after that.

Both Walker IV and Austin Reaves have been out for the Lakers and reports today said that they will both be reassessed on Friday. Starting tomorrow, the Lakers have a five-game road trip ahead and that’s likely when we’ll see a return form both. Walker IV almost did play last night vs his former team, but was ruled out shortly before.

He’s been out with tendinitis in his left knee and will look to get back on track when he returns. Walker IV was enjoying a career -best (14.7) per game and career-best field goal percentage at 46.
