A lot of things came together for Coastal Carolina to finish where it did in 2021, which is 39-20-1 overall, 21-8-1 in Sun Belt competition and in the final of the Greenville Regional. 

For instance, shortstop Eric Brown reaffirmed his place among the nation’s elite players by putting up another monster season on the way to getting drafted in the first round. A number of veterans like starting pitchers Reid VanScoter and Nick Parker, and DH Tyler Johnson had career-best years.
