Fall Report

PALO ALTO, Calif. — It could be argued that no program in the country has had a better two-year run than the Stanford Cardinal. They have won their way to the College World Series each of the last two seasons, proving that they are a program that is at the top of its game under head coach Dave Esquer, who replaced the legendary Mark Marquess a few years ago and has prospered. Okay sure, they haven’t won the national title yet, but it’s still early in the Esquer Era. (No pressure, Dave.)

And the bad news for the rest of[…]

CHICAGOPrep Baseball Report has changed the game when it comes to scouting high school baseball. Now PBR is changing the High School All-American Game.

The Prep Baseball Report All-American Game will pit a team of the nation’s top high school seniors against a team of the nation’s best junior prospects to see which class reigns supreme.

The Prep Baseball Report All-American Game will debut Sept. 23 at state-of-the-art American Family Field, home of the Milwaukee Brewers. The game will feature the country’s best prospects from the classes of 2024 and 2025, giving pro scouts a unique look at current and future draft classes.

“I really like the concept of the two classes playing each other,” Prep Baseball Report President Sean Duncan said. “I think it will stoke the competitive spirits of the players, and ultimately, scouts and fans can watch the best high school players in the country get after it in a more meaningful way.

“This is long overdue for us, but we wanted to have a differentiated marquee game. I am grateful that the Milwaukee Brewers are opening their doors to us, and our baseball partner, Mizuno, will help make this an unforgettable experience for the players.”

Prep Baseball Report, with a staff that includes more than 160 scouts in North America, stages more than 1,000 showcases and tournaments from coast to coast every year. Those include the No. 1 preseason draft event, the Super 60 Pro Showcase (in its 21st year), and the No. 1 college scouting event, the Prep Baseball Report Future Games (in its 11th year).

“We are thrilled to partner with PBR to help deliver a great new event on the amateur baseball landscape,” said Tod Johnson, Brewers Vice President of Domestic Scouting. “PBR is one of the premier amateur baseball organizations in the country, and I am looking forward to working together with their team to put together an elite event with the top high school baseball talent from across the country.

“It is great to be able to bring this event to American Family Field in Milwaukee and keep this close to PBR’s Midwest roots. We believe that this event will be a great experience for the players and their families and we’re excited to welcome them to Milwaukee.”

Prep Baseball Report’s scouting staff will select the rosters for the event. Other activities around the game will include a workout for the players the day before, a home run derby at American Family Field, a 17U tournament and one featuring top Midwest junior college teams. The tournaments will take place at The Rock sports complex in Franklin, a Milwaukee suburb.

“The All-American Game once again raises the bar for what people can expect from Prep Baseball Report,” said Shooter Hunt, PBR’s Vice President of Scouting. “Forever committed to being the premier resource of amateur baseball, PBR is always looking to be on the cutting edge. This game is no different. Pitting the top 2024 and ‘25 prospects against each other will not only provide an exceptional scouting experience, but will also raise the intensity of the play on the field. It will be a  true one-stop-shop to see the future stars of the game shine under the brightest of lights.”

Said Mizuno Senior Marketing Manager Clint Sammons: “Mizuno USA is thrilled to partner with Prep Baseball Report on their 2023 All-American Game. PBR continues to innovate and give players striving for the next level the best platform possible to showcase their skills to coaches and scouts, and the All-American Game will be another example of this great work.  Mizuno is committed through our partnership with Prep Baseball Report to help amplify the event for this special group of players, and to allow them the chance to experience the premium baseball product that Mizuno offers.”
